Anthony Miles

Director of Health and Safety

Anthony Miles has over 20 years of experience in power generation serving as a compliance leader in coal, biomass, and natural gas combined/simple cycle operations. Specifically, he worked for SCANA Corporation currently known as Dominion Energy for 15 years as Supervisor of Environmental, Safety and Chemical Operations. For the past 7 years, Anthony has worked with IHI Power Services Corporation (IPSC) serving as a Compliance Manager for a large biomass generating facility, an Environmental Health Safety Manager for Aspen Fleet (Buchanan Generation, Chambersburg Energy, Gans Energy, Springdale Energy 1 & 2 and Springdale Energy 3, 4, & 5), Senior Corporate Compliance Manager and presently as the Director of Health and Safety.

Anthony has professional expertise in all areas of power generation regulatory compliance with specific focus on health/safety, emergency management, NERC and developing/implementing environmental management systems. He provided project management leadership in Cope Generating Station becoming the first SCANA Corporation facility to be registered to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. Served as management representative responsible for Cope Generating Station admittance process into the South Carolina Environmental Excellence Program, becoming the program’s only coal-fired electric generation facility.

Anthony is originally from South Carolina where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from South Carolina State University. He also graduated with a Master of Science Public Health degree in Environmental Science from the University of South Carolina. Early in his career, Anthony worked for 10 years as an Environmental Research Assistant for 1890 Research and Extension at South Carolina State University.
